Abstract

Accurate representation of breast geometry is essential for the development of well-fitting bras. Conventional bra sizing systems are typically based on bust and underbust circumference measurements, which are often insufficient to capture breast shape variability and asymmetry. Therefore, 3D body scanning represents an effective alternative method for acquiring detailed geometric data of the female torso. This study focuses on the identification of anatomical reference points and key parameters describing breast shape and volume. The obtained data enable the creation of simplified digital breast models that can subsequently be used in the bra design process. The results demonstrate the potential of 3D body scanning for more accurate representation and modeling of breast geometry and support the development of individualized bra designs.
