Abstract

The article focuses on the issue of risk assessment at the design stage of machinery. Risk assessment includes risk estimation and risk evaluation, based on which appropriate measures are taken. If risk estimation is performed incorrectly, this may result in the design of inadequate measures to eliminate or reduce it. There are many different risk estimation methods, but the number of studies or articles that are oriented towards comparing the results obtained by their application is significantly limited. The aim of the article is to demonstrate that the application of different risk estimation methods can indeed lead to the determination of a different risk level. Since the methods have different structures and scopes, it is necessary to define equivalent levels for the risk estimation parameters. This allows for an estimate of the risk level that corresponds to each method and subsequent analysis of the obtained results.
